In addition to standard tests before blepharoplasty, it is necessary to assess the level of age-related changes, visual acuity and eyelid tone; to examine the optic and oculomotor nerves.
Based on these data, the surgeon will be able to choose the appropriate blepharoplasty method.
The course of the operation
Both under anesthesia and under local anesthesia, a solution of a local anesthetic and a vasoconstrictor drug is first injected under the skin of the eyelids. Then, according to the marking, excess eyelid skin, part of the circular eye muscle and excess fatty tissue are removed.
Upon completion of the operation, microsurgical sutures and a sterile bandage are applied to the patient.
Painful sensations after plastic surgery of the upper eyelids are practically absent.
About 3 days after the operation, the surgeon removes the stitches and puts a patch in their place.
Edema of the upper eyelids persists for 4-5 days after surgery and almost completely subsides within 2-3 weeks. Hematomas disappear in 10-16 days. It is possible to evaluate the final result of the operation within 6 months or more
